Renga at the Ness of Brodgar

Pinholes Through Time is a summer renga composed at the open excavation at the Ness of Brodgar last summer.  It was composed by a willing small group of volunteers on the final day of the excavation when everyone else had finished their jobs. This small group who were not all sure what a renga was, returned to use words to interpret their experiences on site in the portacabin that the visiting artists in residence had used as an active studio.

The 15 ft long painting was created in the portacabin studio by Jeanne. The completed painting includes over 100 words contributed by other archaeologists and volunteers and written by them all along the bottom. This picture does not show those words.

The poem or renga was composed and then the words were placed over details from the large painting that artist Jeanne Bouza Rose, painted whilst the artist in residence.

This book/poem is now available for purchase directly through https://www.blurb.com or www.amazon.com .  Proceeds are donated back to the Ness of Brodgar Trust.
