All the work you see on this website is for sale and many more are available on site. The originals are for sale, as are some giclee print versions. I vary and limit the paintings, prints and watercolours used to reproduce onto cards. Sometimes, I reproduce specific work on tote bags and mugs and, annually, I put together a calendar of my watercolour white-line woodcuts. Printed versions are always limited in number. You can suggest an image for reproduction.
Consider a visit to here in Stromness Orkney, Scotland and be immersed in the “heart of the Neolithic world”. You may choose to learn a 100 year old “Arts and Crafts” era technique at this working studio/gallery, ArtWorks of the Earth with myself, or purchase one of my original paintings, prints, or a painted lampshades of Orkney’s Standing Stones. Portraits of megaliths and landscapes will greet you, and a 44 foot by 5 foot painting of the island of Hoy will surround you.
This working studio/gallery is filled with the colour, light, land, the sky, and the standing stones that punctuate the time and history of Orkney. Prints, oil paintings, lampshades and fused glass pieces inspired by the Neolithic archaeology of carved stone balls, standing stones, stone circles and henges are available for purchase as framed originals or as giclee prints on paper or canvas, cards, or mugs.
Do consider working beside me and take a one-day art workshop and complete your own print in the “Provincetown Print” or white-line watercolour woodcut technique. ArtWorks of the Earth is just along cobbled Dundas Street, minutes away from the Standing Stones of Stenness, the Ring of Brodgar, Maeshowe, Skara Brae, and the excavation at the Ness of Brodgar in Orkney, Scotland.
ArtWorks of the Earth can be a surprise on a rainy day and always has a bowl of chocolates for the visitor! It is a good stopping place before continuing on to the unique Stromness Museum which features local history and the life of John Rae, the true discoverer of the Northwest Passage in Canada, or carrying on for a walk along the beach to the Ness Battery, overlooking the mysterious island of Hoy. Whether it is your own print or something of mine, one thing is sure, Orkney and its standing stones and the archaeology you will have walked beside will either fill your walls or colour your dreams for some time to come. I so look forward to seeing you! Read on to find out in greater detail what is available for sale or commission!
